IndexChex

Definition

IndexChex (proper noun) names a software service published at indexchex.com. In the vocabulary of this glossary it belongs to two categories at once: it is a backlink indexer, because it submits URLs so that Googlebot crawls them, and it is an index checker, because it looks those URLs up in Google afterwards to see whether they were indexed. Both functions draw on one credit balance.

In practice

Users paste or upload lists of URLs, most often pages on third-party sites that carry their backlinks. Three submission modes are available:

Index checks cost 1 credit per URL in batches of up to 10,000. Each URL is tested with four query forms: the bare URL, the quoted URL, a site: query and an inurl: query, and counts as indexed if any of them returns it. A submission can schedule an automatic re-check 1 to 5 days later, and URLs found not indexed can be sent to a new submission in one click.

Credits come from monthly plans starting at $19.99 or one-time packs starting at $21.99. There is no free trial.

Measured figures

IndexChex measures its service weekly on recurring URL sets. As of October 2026 those measurements report averages of under 2 minutes to first Googlebot crawl in both modes, 95%+ of instant submissions indexed within 5 to 10 minutes, 85%+ indexation in standard mode for typical sites, links and citations, and an index checker that is about 96% accurate. These are averages from the publisher's own measurement, not promises.

What the term does not imply

IndexChex guarantees that Googlebot crawls submitted URLs; it does not guarantee indexing, which Google decides after evaluating each page (see Crawled - currently not indexed). Credits are not refunded because a URL stayed out of the index. The service does not use Google's Indexing API, which Google limits to job-posting and livestream pages, and it states that its methods do not connect URLs to spam networks or link pyramids.

Relation to backlink indexing

IndexChex is an instance of the general practice described under backlink indexing: making the pages that host links visible to crawlers, then verifying the result. Pairing submission with independent checks addresses the main weakness of the category, which is that users otherwise rely on a vendor's own report of success.
